Any good information out there as to what versions
will work with what ??? Matrix charts ???

*going to install Partner Messaging R7 with ACS R5

ACS R3 will Not support Partner Messaging but does support
Partner Mail VS ....what versions support what

Phoneuser:)

ALL ACS releases support Partner Mail (ALL Releases), Partner Mail VS (ALL Releases) , and Partner Messaging (ALL Releases).

ACS Release 1.1 and higher support Partner Voice Messaging (ALL Releases).

There are known issues with ACS R7 and Partner Mail VS. There is a patch available from Avaya only for VS rel 5,(ver 11's won't powerup with ACS 7, patch upgrades it to ver 20) Also on the rel 3's the DND feature has problems, calls will not cover to voice mail with DND on. (Avaya is not providing a patch or supporting the release 3's)

Can anyone tell me if they have had this problem. I installed a ACS today under a desk next to a computer server and another computer. When you try to make a conference call from the phone above the control unit on the desk, when you conference both parties in you hear a very loud screech. I tried this from another phone and faintly heard the screech. I didn't have time to figure out what the problem was and knew I would be back to finish install another day. The system is working fine except for the conference problem. I was wondering if the RF,s from the server and PC next to the CU could be the problem?

Hi mmico,
Well, I wouldn't recommend installing the system like that. There are ventillation issues, and the simple fact that the system is easily kicked. There may be some issues with proximity of the switch to other computers or phone. I don't know because I would never install a system like this.
If possible, do yourself a favour and mount the system on the wall, on a backboard. Use the grounding screw and properly terminate the system and station cable. I can see nothing but problems for you the way the system is currently installed.
I suspect that your conference problems are CO current issues. Again, I could be wrong here.

I agree, that's not the place for the system. I also agree that the conference problem is a CO issue.

I've seen this a couple times the line is coming to "hot" you need to look for 185A Attenuators (Avaya comcode 100331461) it is a very hard item to get, also look for loop current attenuators. It would be easier pulling your own teeth than getting the phone company to fix it. The 185A
is basically a 400 ohm resister with a capcitor. I have the specs if you post your email. I got mine from a retired Avaya tech it cost me lunch. Hope this helps.
