Outcalling is enabled, and turned on. I've got the lines assigned to the port extensions, no centrex, outcalling schedule set to always, but still no outcalling!

No call/line restrictions.. I'm stumped!

Anyone have any ideas why I can't get this to work?

Did you put a "nine" in before your outcalling #,
put a call into your VM box and watch the buttons on a phone , do you see it sieze a line?

Ok, outcalling is turned on in admin AND in mailbox. If I am reading this correctly, you assigned lines to the voicemail ports? You would not need to assign lines. The last voicemail port is for outcalling. Make sure that all of your vm ports are assigned to hunt group 7. You could put an auto dial/blf on your phone, leave a message and see if the call hits that port. Make sure you have your outcalling number set in your mailbox. Test it first on a cell phone, (9,xxxxxxx#)

When programming the number, after the nine, hit **** and then the number. The * is a pause and I've found that the system dials the number so quick it doesn't wait for dial tone after the 9. I hope this workd for you.

Got it figured out. I didn't realize that I needed a 9 even if we weren't using Centrex. Apparently PARTNER Messaging needs the 9 to access an outside line. I just assumed i would sieze it directly rather than picking up an intercom "line" and dialing 9.

Long story short, adding the 9 back in to the dialing string (with the necessary pauses) allowed the system to correctly sieze a line and dial out.

Thanks all!

Glad you found your solution - Voice Mail ports need to access Intercom dial tone first, so they can dial the Message Light strings (#09-Ext. No. for On, #10-Ext. No. for Off). That's why the Outcalling number needs the 9* first, to connect to an outside line. The ports DO need to have lines assigned to them for outcalling, but not for answering. You could also outcall to an EXTENSION number for internal notification, just put in the 2-digit number without the 9*. And if someone's extension is getting phantom calls from voice mail, and their extension number matches the first two digits of a local prefix, somebody forget the 9*.
