Is Avaya just skipping r2,3,4 & 5? Or did I just blink and miss something.

Hi Phoneguy15,
You must mean Partner ACS R6.0. We just got the announcement today (expected). We are still at Partner Messaging R1. That info was in the ACS R6.0 release. The ACS R6.0 brings us partial T1 (16 lines), transfers outside the system (to external #)and SET BUTTON COPYING !! Yahoo!

However they are also releasing a new Partner Messaging, probably R2 (just installed our first Merlin Messaging R3 the other day.) This will feature unified messaging, mailbox transfer, and some other cool features.

The Partner Messaging R6 IS the newest messaging. I guess alot of people were thinking the messaging R1 was a step backwards from the Partner Mail VS R5. There is documentation up for it on the avaya support page.

I found the documentation on the business partner web site. They are going to have the ACS R6 AND Messaging R6 availible for order on June 16th. The documentation doesn't say anything about set button copying. But I will be glad to see and use it. They just need to add it to the Magix now.

Hi Guys,
Amen on the Magix. I didn't hear about the Partner Messaging R6, the product release I got refers to the R1 still. I will check the Avaya web site, thanks.

Hi, All

Just received a r6.0 today gonna start toying with it , havent received the t-1 card as of yet however i hope it doesnt turn out to be a dud like the 1600dsl module that we still have about 6 sitting in our warehouse...

Does anybody know how the T1 card can be configured. Is it strictly for dialtone or is there some sort of udp feature that will enable to connect to partners together, or even a partner to a magix???

Jinxs,

Here is the T1 module overview:

T1 Module (Fractional T1): Enables use of fractional T1 with up to 16 voice lines via a T1 facility giving businesses cost effective trunking options that are typically available only with larger PBX systems. This T1 module supports Ear & Mouth (E & M) signaling with or without Direct Inward Dialing (DID) service. It also supports the emulation of E & M signaling with automatic and wink start signaling types. However, this module will not support emulated Loop Start, Ground Start lines, emulated DID lines, or Primary Rate Interface (PRI). In addition, only one T1 module is allowed per system and it must be installed in the first slot of a 5-slot carrier or the second slot of a 2-slot carrier. T1 must be also be provisioned on channels 9 or higher — a Channel Service Unit (CSU) is included for provisioning the voice lines. The T1 module can only be administered via PARTNER PC Administration and Diagnostics software.

sounds like they mean for it to be strictly for dial tone, but you may be able to trick it into networking with another switch.

Hi All,
Well, E&M sounds like some kind of networking. Possibly between two systems. PRI is coming out with ACS 7.0. That should be interesting.
