(Messaging V7) Is this possible? The manual talks about the 5 slot mainly. I tried adding it as extension 19-22 (4 port) as thats the ports after the 509 (ACS7), and adding it to hunt group 7. Seems the PC tool does not retrieve translations with the Messaging in the right hand slot of the 2-slot carrier. Works fine by itself. There is also no backup card in the 509. This is a test kit for our shop, thats why it has this odd configuration. Do you need extension modules to make this work?

It should work, although I admit I have not set up an R7 with Messaging in a 2 slot carrier. Try using the last 4 ports on the Messaging 23-26. Or just start calling the ports until you hit one that the Messaging answers.

thanks the trick to just dial around via intercom til I hear something like voicemail did do the trick. I think I needed to default the 509 first and then I heard vmail on port 19 to 22. Popped in the Hunt Group 7 on those 4 rebooted and it works as expected on a 2 slot carrier. Good for demos!

Thx

It is probably a good idea to default anything purchased used or refurbished, even if the seller claims that it has already been done. No telling what programming is still lurking around.
