I am having a problem with Partner ACS R6 with Partner Messaging on extensions 26&27. This system has worked fine for years. However, recently the AA will not answer and voicemail is not working. THe status light is solid green with an occasional single orange flash.

When I attempt to call either of the VM extensions, it is busy. I have also programmed these extensions to SD buttons on one phone for diagnostics. They are constantly lit. I checked group 7 programming, and they are properly assigned. I have reset the system (#728) to no avail. The extensions are even busy with the Partner Messaging card removed from the system.

Any ideas?

What does it sound like when you power the system on with the voicemail installed? If you hear it grinding, or a whirrr...click over and over it is most likely a bad hard drive on the messaging. If it powers on fairly silent and seems to boot proper (you'll see the light flickering as it boots) it might be something else.

Thanks. But would the extensions for the VM ports still be busy, even after the VM unit is removed from the system and the system is reset?

Take them out of the vm mail group and call them.

OK, so the VM card has been removed from the system. The VM port extensions (26&27) have been removed fromm HG 7. Those extensions still ring busy, but the SD buttons that are programmed for them are no longer lit. Is this because there is no card in the system for extensions 26 & 27? The last extension port is 25 (3x8 processor and 308EC card). I want to make sure this is a bad VM card and not a processor problem before I send them a VM card
