I am using an ACS 6 with a Messaging R6 and trying to do a Centrex transfer. I don't have Centrex, the customer has Custopak which is Verizon's stripped down version of centrex. I am trying to test out the configuration using a Partner as s/l ports fed into the trunk ports. That didn't work. So I put a Mitel SX-200 ahead of the partner and tested the centrex transfer.

It works as long as you answer the transferred call out of the partner to the mitel side on the first ring. After 1 ring the call is dropped. I'm not sure if this is a Mitel or Partner issue. Manually flashing the line and doing the transfer works fine. Only with the Messaging in play does trouble exist.

I just want to be sure the centrex transfer will work on the custopak lines and test it out. I've done this with other voicemails before. Has anyone done this with the Messaging R1-7 and Centrex/Custopak sucessfully.

If you monitor with a butt set while the Messaging is doing the Centrex transfer, I think you will find that it will flash, pause, dial, pause, flash, pause, disconnect. (At leat, that's what the VS Mails did)

That 2nd pause means that it does a 3-way call before hanging up, and that may be hat is causing problems with your test bed.

thanks TTT. Is there anything in the Messaging to be adjusted or simply setting it to Centrex transfer is all you need to do. Perhaps there is a flash timer in the ACS I have to adjust.

I am trying to simulate centrex with a PBX b/c I am not going to upgrade to centrex (or custopak).

The flash transfer works fine when you do it manually with a s/l phone. Only when I use the messaging does the process mess up.

When I used the Partner to simulate centrex, I could see the line on the partner flash green/red which I believe means a conference is taking place. But after 3-5 seconds the whole call got cut off. That's when I pulled out the Mitel. With the Mitel if you don't answer the transferred call after the first ring, everyone is disconnected.

There is a flash timer in the ACS, #107. I usually set it to 24 - 600 mSec.

All you have to do is program the selector code as Centrex Transfer, and supply the phone number to be dialed.

Test your customer's "Custopak" lines by doing the same sequence on your buttset that the Partner does - incoming call, flash, dial, flash, disconnect. If that works, the Messaging will work.
