Partner Messaging Admin Password Reset 1

Have a site that they have changed the password for the admin mailbox.
I'm not sure if it is a R7 or earlier(i believe it's R7, though).
I have the codes to reset the password (for R7 and previous) but neither is working.
I believe I am not going through the process correctly.
So, my question is not for the reset codes but the process to enter the reset codes.
It's been about 2 years since I last had to do this so my memory of the process has slipped a bit...

Dial 777, dial 0#, enter the backdoor password plus the # key. If this gets you in then change the password to a known value.
