I have Partner Endeavor system with a VS 5.0 voice Mail.
Everything works fine but my office manager is thinking of upgrading the voice Mail to a Partner messaging 7.0.

One of the options that is needed is for the Auto Attendant to answer calls [ day recording ] from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, then at 12 noon she wants callers directed to a different auto att message[ i.e. we are closed for lunch, etc ] then at 1:00 it's back to the normal day Auto Att and then at 5:00 pm it's the night greeting [ i.e. we are closed ]....Oh yes...and she want's all of this at a touch of a button....DAY..LUNCH...DAY...NIGHT...no re-recording of the Auto Att greeting every day for lunch & day switch...She does that now and is not happy about having to re-record the day greeting twice a day.
Everything I have read in the documentation says "NO CAN DO" !!!!
The business schedule seems like it would follow the system clock which offers no flexability as far as time is concerned.....Not acceptable.
Stay with the present 5.0 and suck it up or????


Any suggestions out there.Any work arounds?

There is no business schedule available in VS Mail, only Partner Messaging R1, R6, and R7.

Is the Auto Attendant set for Immediate answering, or as a backup for the Operator?

You could add a DXD card for Lunch time answering.

Set the DXD Rings LOWER than the VMS Hunt Delay. Put the DXD Button Next to the Night Button, and label it Lunch.

Day Mode - neither light is on, Auto Attendant answers with the DAY message after 4 rings.

Lunch Mode - Lunch button (DXD) is lit, DXD message answers after 2 rings.

Night Mode - Night button is lit, Lunch button is off, Auto Attendant answers with the NIGHT message after 4 rings.


If you are using IMMEDIATE answering, set the DXD rings to 1, same senario, except the DAY and NIGHT messages pick up on 2 rins as now, Lunch DXD picks up on 1 ring.
