I have a new 7.0 ACS with 3 ea 308 boards and a new Messaging 7.0...6-ports .Px 43 thru 48
I will be putting the system into service with about 22 sets, leaving 11 empty ports for future growth.[Px 32 thru 42].....It is a mid-size Real Estate office.
My customers employees are not good with change, so I want to configure the Guest mailbox's the best way.

The customer will need about 30 Guest mailbox's outside of the ACS dialing plan.
Soooo..Im thinking to go with selector codes 5 thru 8 as direct extension transfer and building box's 43 thru 89 as guest box's...Rather than adding confusion with some stations as 2-digit and others as 3-digit when Agents call in for messages.
The down side that I am aware of, is that I will not have any selector codes for the normal use...i.e. press 5 for billing etc, but my customer does not see a need for that going forward.
99% of the calls will be answered by a person during the day.
I'm aware of the necessity for someone to transfer a caller to a guest mailbox outside of the Partner dial plan ..ICM 777, *8, Px # etc. no problem there.
My question is ...HAVE I NOT thought of anything that might come back to haunt me in the future with this setup.
A total of 47 guest mailbox's will be plenty.
Any thoughts out there??
Thanks
Rich

The only thing i see is that you are going to use 43-48 as mailboxes and they are your VM ports. I am not sure it will be a problem but just worth a mention.

Kwing112000..Thanks for your reply...

I thought that also, but after reading the documentation, it states that Voice Mail ports can be used for Guest Mailbox's.

I found it a little odd, but I tried it and it seems to work fine.

Just wondering if anyone had issue's.
Rich

Just make sure you DO NOT assign auto voice coverage (#310) to the extensions of your voicemail.

3 most important things about installing phone systems are TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING.
