Just had the avaya guy out and they spent 2+ hours and didn't get the messaging working. (thought i'd support the local people when possible)
We have an ACS 7 with 2 308EC and a messaging 6 with 4 port card. We have ext 35-38 in hunt group 7.
We have 4 incoming lines. 1-3 are for company 1. 4 is for company 2.
During the day we want the phones in company 1 that don't get answered in say 6 rings to be given a message such as "please hold for the next available salesperson or press 1 to leave a message". Then we'd like it to start ringing again or notifying us of a customer on hold. Company 1 has extensions 10-16. Company 2 has 17-26. In night mode we'd like it to just go immediatly to the
Company 2 should be operated just as a answering machine with message that were closed and press a button to leave a message. So we basically only need 2 mailboxes. One for each company.
Need help configuring the acs and messaging to do this?
Fred

Things are more like they are now than they have ever been before.

Assign lines 1-4 to the Auto Attendant, #206-7-LL-1

Set the Day VMS Hunt Delay for Lines 1-3 to 6, #506-1-LL-6.

Put Ext. 10-16 in Calling Group 2, #502-2-XX-1,

Make a mailbox for 72, give it Transfer Only permissions.

Make the Day Timeout/Dial-0 option transfer to Ext. 72

Make Selector Code 1 do a mailbox transfer to where you want the message taken.

Make the Night VMS Hunt Delay for Lines 1-3 to 1, and set the Night Timeout/Dial-0 option to mailbox transfer to where you want the message taken. Might want to make Selector Code `1 the same as the day, in case someone calls in after hours, and remembers that pressing 1 lets them leave a message.

Make Line 4 answered by the Auto Attendant only at Night, #507-04-3.

Assign Line 4 to Auto Attendant No. 2, option 5 or 6 under AA-2 (listen to the prompts for line assignment)

Set the Night Timeout/Dial-0 option to mailbox transfer to where you want company 2's messages taken.

OR, make an extension the Call Coverage extension for Line 4, #206-7-04-2, #208-04-XX. REMOVE Auto VMS Coverage for that extension, #310-XX-2, set its VMS Coverage Rings to 1, and add a VMS Coverage button (Feature 15) to the phone, and label it Company 2 Night Mode.

THANKS
Like my dad always said "It's hard to beat a man at what he's good at."
Your on the Christmas List :)
Thanks
