Only if it is connected to ports on a 206 module, or you have Avaya install a patch in the Partner Mail (requires the modem connected to the serial port of the Partner Mail)
TTT- have a question, I have used the stand alone at times with acs r6 AND 308ec with no problems, what problems arise with the R7 that requires using 206 cards and a patch?,is it more then the DND, would like to know in the event it comes up.
thanks
The incompatibility is the ports on ACS and 308 mods fool the VM ports into thinking they are receiving a call. The port answers, but since there is no real call, it never receives mode codes. It times out, and transfers the "call" to the Operator, causing a 1-cycle "ring-beep" at Ext. 10.
We've solved it in the past by reusing a 206 module just for VM, another that upgraded to all 308's needed Avaya to remote into the VM and program a patch.
TTT Thank You for the info.
I do remember reading an Avaya tech breif regarding some incompatability between the 206 & 308 module power supplies residing in the same carrier, but have mixed them many times without any problems.
I will probably use a 206 module for the voicemail as you suggested.
