The AA answers all calls, the caller then dials the ext. they want and gets transfered. When the caller gets to a private mail box is there an option for them to transfer back to the AA message to listen and choose another ext. i know *8 gives them the option to transfer to another ext. but my customer wants the caller to here the whole greeting and be able to make another choice of direction. Can this be done???

Thanks.

Not with VS mail, although you could loop a spare extension to a spare line port, they transfer to that extension and the AA picks up again. But only one call at a time, and now the volume is attenuated.

Partner Mail and Partner Messaging allow you to set a mailbox that "points" to an auto attendant, so with those you just transfer to the appropiate mailbox.

two exts in a group, plugged to two line ports routed to aa.

transfer to group, two calls at a time then. same draw back with volume. would work for vm which can not route ext to aa directly.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

Calling Group, they'd ring simultaneously, and the AA would fight to answer both. Hunt group, now you're telling your caller to press *8771 to transfer back to the AA. Pretty klunky. And then they get another mailbox, and want to go back to the AA again and again.....

Ditch the old VS mail and upgrade.

i see your point

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

delayed ring on one line would fix aa fighting over the two lines ringing. but it would still seem klunky, replace vm is better option.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

We are having problems when an outside caller chooses an extension and hears the voicemail they are transferred automatically to another extension instead of being able to leave a message. Would reinitializing the voicemail box correct this problem?

Waht voicemail are you using? What phone sytem also.
