Partner Mail Vs Release 5

I have a Partner Plus Phone system. We decided to add a Partner Mail Vs module to our system. We have a 5 slot cariage Starting from the left I have a 206E R4.1,206E R3.1, Processing Module R4.1, 206E R4.1 then I installed The Mail Vs in the last slot. I have followed the Setup Guide and when I turn on the system, the green light comes on steady for a few seconds, then flashes for awhile Turns ready for a few seconds, turns off, then starts the same thing over. Anybody have any ideas what that means.

I'm not sure. Some guesses:

Have the proper ports been assigned to Hunt Group #7? Possible bad hard drive (can you hear the drive spinning during power up?).

Listen to it on power up. Does it click or make beeping noises when the hard drive is coming on? If so, oould be a bad hard drive.

Definitely sounds like a bad hard drive. I replace them all the time since the VS R5 is getting long in the tooth.

It turned out to be the hard drive, the supplier was surprised, because they had just shipped it to me after testing it, but I guess things happen, another refurb is on its way today. Thanks for the help.

After the warranty expires on the voicemail, you might want to consider purchasing some spare drives. Both traditional and flash versions are available from a company who sells on eBay and directly online.

company on ebay has hard drive replacements traditional as well as flash drive which has no moving parts and an extra lifespan of a few years.
