Partner mail vs R5 trouble with callers leaving messages

Have a customer that recently had power outage then problems with voice mail. Went to site to check. Trouble is when caller outside or internal try to leave message after greeting plays says message is to short to dial another ext dial *8 or 0 for operator. Found that multiple mailboxes had old messages total of 118. Delete messages thinking this may be problem did not resolve. Did system reset save all on both phone system and partner mail did not resolve. after diging into this even more found that after you listen to message then delete message would not actual delete message. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance
 
My guess is that the voicemail module is needs to be replaced. Not being able to record or erase messages isn't a good sign. [ponder]
 
Have you tried clearing out the VM? I would clear it and reprogram it before getting a new one just to be sure.
 
return the vm to factory default. this wipes the configuration from the vm. then start over. i am not sure the procedure is something to be posted in a forum. i might suggest contacting your vendor.
