Hi All...need a suggestion for setting up PM VS R5 with an ACS in a 2 carrier for my home/bus numbers. I'll start out with 2 18B D sets, 1 for home and 1 for the bus. but both will have both lines. I would like to to have a different greeting for each line and be able to get messages for either, on site or on the road.
I've installed the Partner and vm successfully and defaulted both to start fresh. I've set up 2 aa's (1 for ea. usage) but I didn't like process where the caller has to dial an option to get to an ext vm box to leave a message. So I tried line ownership, but that seems to still go thru the aa greeting. I basically want calls not answered after 4-5 rings go to a vm box to leave a msg.
Also, is there a way to get the FAX to "sniff out" incomming faxes on line 2?
Appreciate any ideas...Thanks

Take the lines out of Call Distribution Group 7 with #206-7-LL-2

Assign the extension that will cover the line with #208-LL-XX

Be sure the line is assigned to the extension with either Immediate or Delayed Ringing.

Assign Automatic VMS Coverage to each extension, #310-XX-1

Control the number of rings before answer with #321-XX-N

When you call in to check for messages, upon hearing your personal message, press *7 to switch to the log-in prompt.

You can try putting your Fax extension in Hunt Group 8, #505-8-XX-1, and setting the extension to No Ring. When the call is answered by the mailbox, the ACS will be listening for the CNG tone, and transfer to 778, which has your Fax machine assigned to it.

Thnaks TTT...it all worked as stated. I I think the lines assigned to the call dist gp. were causing most of my probs.
Havent worked on the FAX puzzle yet. I'll try next week.
