I have a customer that has a PMVS R5 with a ACS R3.03 and would like to use all 48 mailboxes-The problem is the higher mailboxes are in the 50's. I can't dial the mailbox numbers in the 50's internally or through the auto attendant. I beleive this is because the dial plan will not go that high. All I get is an error tone . I think I know the answer to this one, but I am hoping someone may be able to help. I haven't been able to figure a way to even transfer a caller to one of these mailboxes or leave a message internally.

Mailboxes can be created for extensions 11 through 49 for Partner ACS 3.0

Your mail box's will be 11-49 on the ACS 3.0 with a VS5

You can go from the Auto Attendant's selector codes directly to mailboxes, rather than dialing 2-digit extension numbers. You could loop an extension to a CO port, have it answered by AA2 and have that do a press 1 for mailbox 50, 2 for 51, 3 for 52, etc. Very klunky. One call at a time. Transfer live callers to the extension, wait on the line for the AA to answer (you can set it to 0 rings on the ACS R3), dial the selector code, and then hang up quick! For callers through AA1, they would need to transfer to the extension and listen to the prompt for the rest of the mailboxes.

If you upgrade to an ACS R4 or higher, you can have 10-57 (48 boxes) as your dial plan.

If you upgrade to Partner Messaging, you create the mailboxes as "without a phone", and transfer the caller to 777, wait for the login prompt, dial *8 and the extension number, then hang up. Calls through the AA just go directly to the mailbox, instead of trying to transfer to the (non-exsistant) phone and covering back to VM.
