Hi,

We have been using a Lucent Partner Mail system for a long time and I think the VM unit finally bit the dust this past Weekend. I was told on Monday that people couldn't get into their voice mail accounts. So I tried and sure enough I couldn't get in. So I reset the system (powered down for 10 seconds and then restarted and now on the VM unit I first get a yellow and a red light and then just a red light and then both solid yellow and red lights and then no lights. When I try and go into VM I get a busy signal. The phone system seems to work fine otherwise as we can receive and make calls and the intercom and transfer all still seem to work.

So I'm guessing that the VM unit (Part # 539C2 from what I can see) has bit the dust. As this system is pretty old I'm sure getting a new Partner Mail VS r3.0 unit isn't possible but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a place where I could get a replacement unit. We are near Los Angeles, CA.

And it is just as simple as un-plugging the old bad unit and plugging in the replacement unit? Does any programming or setup need to done? There is what looks like a PCMICA card in the unit but I have no idea what it does.

Thanks in advance,
Nick

You can check with American Telebrokers, Inc.
20707 Center Pointe Pkwy
Santa Clarita, 91350
661-250-0070 or 888-231-0404

They carry good stock and may have what you need. I have used them in a pinch, when a system was down and no spare, or when I didn't have time to get the item from Metroline Direct.

The listing for the Partner Mail voicemail system is no longer found on Metrolinedirect's website. Depending on which processor you have, and the availability of an open slot in the existing carrier, you could upgrade to an Avaya Partner Messaging (R7)
