I have already gone through the steps to reinitialize all of our mailbox passwords. I received a message that said the mailbox passwords have been reinitialized (#,3, repeat). I'm still getting invalid password when I try to check mail at extension 31 even though I reset all the passwords to 1234 (default).

What am I missing? Is there an extension password in addition to the mailbox password?

Do you know for sure that the mailbox exists? When you login and press 4 to program the mailboxes and then enter 31#, does it say "mailbox 31 exists" or "mailbox 31 does not exist"? If it doesn't exist, just press 4 when the message continues with "to create this mailbox, please press 4". If the mailbox exists, you could always reinitialize the whole mailbox by pressing 4 to reinitialize the mailbox instead of 3 to reinitialize the password.

Is there a way to identify which mailboxes are assigned to which extensions?

For VS mail, log into the system administrator's mailbox, 9 for programming, 4 for mailboxes. You are told how many mailboxes have been created in the system, and how many are possible. Then you are prompted to enter an extension number and #. Press just # and you will hear the extension number of the first mailbox. Press # again, and you will hear the extension number of the next mailbox. Keep pressing # until you hear "no more mailboxes". If 31 does not exist, and you have reached the maximum capacity, you need to delete one of the other mailboxes to create mailbox 31.

Thanks, you were correct. Needed to delete an old mailbox to make room for mailbox 31.
