Partner ACS R6 w/Mail VS R4. The main line rings once, and then the AA picks up, says "Goodbye" in the Partner female voice, and hangs up. This started happening after the processor's Line 1 port went bad, so the tech moved all three lines down to ports 2, 3, and 4, and then reprogrammed the Line buttons on each extension to recognize Ports 2, 3, and 4 as Line 1, 2, and 3 on the phones. Let me know if you need any other info from me, thanks.

Thanks, Dex - I thought it sounded like an voicemail Hunt Group extension issue! I checked with the site and they had Ext's 34, 35, 36, and 37 all set to assigned. I thought that the site had told me the VS Mail was in Slot 5 and was a 4-port, so wouldn't that make the Extensions that need to be assigned 44, 45, 46, and 47? Programming it that way gets rid of the immediate "Goodbye" and hang up, but now you get the message "Your call is being transferred to the Receptionist" on the first ring. From what I understand, I believe that means that one or more ports that should be assigned to the Hunt Group are missing, correct? What's the easiest way to figure out what ports should be assigned - just check what cards are installed into which slots, and figure out if the VS Mail is a 2-Port or 4-Port?

The ports would depend on what the other modules in the carrier are. A quick way to check the ports would be to ring each of them via the intercom (INT 34...INT 35 and so forth). If the PMVS answers then it should go into HG7. [smile]

Thanks, Dex. I always wondered if it was the PMVS answering that signaled that the port should be in it, or if assigning the EXT made the PMVS answer. That's one thing I'll never have a question on again [bigsmile]

Being able to determine the correct ports just by eyeballing the modules in a carrier is something I hope to...one day...be able to do. Until that time comes, paper, pencil, fingers and toes work wonders. [glasses]

Thank you, Dex. We got the correct extensions assigned (33, 34, 35, and 36) and the system is functioning normally again. Steps taken:

1 - Dialed each extension and got "Transferring to the Receptionist" on 33, 34, 35, and 36, and busy signals above that
2 - Checked #505, HG 7, and found that Ext's 44, 45, 46, and 47 were assigned
3 - Assigned 33, 34, 35, and 36 to HG7 and unassigned 44, 45, 46, and 47
4 - Dialed 33, 34, 35, and 36 and got the "Welcome to Partner Mail VS" message

Multiple test calls were made and the system is ringing normally again. Much appreciated, Dex!
