I have a release 8 partner acs, along with a partner mail vs 5 voice messaging system. I have tried everything and cant seem to get it to work properly.
I want extensions 10, 35, and 36 to ring when a call comes in on line 1. And if the call is not answered after 3 rings, i want the call forwarded to extension 35's voice mail box.
I want these extensions to ring when a call comes in on line 1, and do not want the auto attendant to answer. I have assigned these extensions line 1. And they ring when a call is placed. However, after three rings, the line turns red as if the voice mail has picked up, but the caller still hears ringing, no voice mail. If you select the line that is red, the extension is placed on a conference call and the voice mail says "Good bye" and hangs up.
My current set up is:
-Line Coverage Ext L01: 35
-Line Assignment: 10, 35, 36 Line 1
-Automatic VMS Cover: 10 (not assigned), 35 (assigned), 36 (not assigned)
-Call Coverage Rings: Ext 35, 3 rings
-VMS Cover Rings: Ext 35, 3 rings
What am I missing? I have played around with EVERY option in both the ACS and the VMS but nothing seems to work.
