Partner mail VS 5.0 not answering

Hi,

Avaya Partner system with Partner Mail VS 5.0 module.

All of a sudden the voice mail stopped answering. Dial Intercom 777, and either you get a busy signal, or it keeps ringing, or the intercom light blinks on the 18D phone.

I power cycled the unit, and after about a minute or two it came back up OK.

Should I be concerned, and what should I do if this happens again?

Thank you for your reply. Now that you mention it, I've seen other threads describing the same symptoms.

I do have a backup card. Do I just do a #124, or is there anything else I need to do? Are the voice mail messages saved with #124, or just the settings?

#124 saves the programming for the system. You need to go into the admin for the voicemail and do a backup there, although it does not save messages/greetings. It just saves the configuration.
 
There is an outfit that sometimes advertises replacement flash drives on eBay. However, I might suggest upgrading to the Avaya Partner Messaging R7 and going with the final voice mail developed for the Partner platform. [smile]
