Installed the old PM04 box. Works just fine. However everytime I power down and up it looses sets the time and date back to 1988.

Is there a battery on board that will retain the memory. I noticed that the Admin menu provides for time and date updating. Should not the ACS Proc. dictate the T&D to the PM04 or were these tow items seperate at the time they were released.

Old Partner Mails before R3 were not Y2K compliant, so every time the voicemail reboots the date reverts back to 1988. Try finding a year before 2000 with the same calendar as 2006 and set it accordingly.

Thanks Brian, I searched and found that there should be a batteyr on board that by now i am sure is dead. do you know what it looks like or were on the board it is located. I could not find it.

Do you know were I might get a replacement? I checked with Refurb Supplies and they don't have one.

I have the whole system on a UPS as usual so perhaps this issues won;t come up unless they have along term power failure.

The CMOS battery won't help as regards the date issue. I think the battery is part of the clock chip on the motherboard. Best bet is not letting it reboot by using a battery backup, as you are already doing.

Yes, thank you. I insit on back up UPS on all my installs or reinstall if I am going to provide a warranty on the customer CPE. I include it in the cost of the estimate and it is well worth it for the pretection and customer satisfaction of having phones during a power failure.

If you use UPS how many mins. or hours do you usually provide?

By the way. Can I create a phantom mailbox on R.1 like MB-50 and if messages are left can I have it light a MW light on lets say station 12 or must the station user manually check for messages?

Most power outages are short, so an hour or two should suffice. You can create guest mailboxes, but you'll have to check them manually if there's no extension that matches the mailbox number.

Brian, I had trouble logging on via remote access and I changed the System Password instead of the Remote System password. The system password use to show just ---- now it has the 4 digit code I entered and I can't get rid of it.

So now the recp. has to enter this code to turn night service off. How can I get the ---- which defaults to NO system password back.

I checked the manuals but there is not info. on resetting it back to NO password.

Thanks!

It is alomsot 4am and I am tired. I just figured out how to default it back to ----.

Thanks!
