I have a Partner Mail VS that loses memory of the date and time when the power is turned off. I have heard that there is a battery on the PMVS that can be replaced. Does anyone have any documentation on what type of battery it is and where it is located on the card? Or instructions on replacement? In the PMVS book it says to reprogram the time on the Partner and it will synch with the PMVS in a minute. That didn't work.

The PMVS gets its time and date from the Partner, but it uses the first VM port to communicate the information. Is it possible that you have some other extension or extensions in the Hunt Group 7?

Hi fonedude,
I don't think a battery exists in the Partner Mail VS series. There is no need for one. TouchToneTommy is bang on, the mail syncs off the Partner processor.

Yeah, that is what I thought. I read that in the manual. Initially I went to a customer that had purchased a PMVS from A-Z Kellatronics. They tried to program it, but couldn't make it work. I started to shoot it and I realized that they had programmed all the extensions in Hunt group 7, not just the aa/vm, which was causing massive problems. If I reprogram the time now, might it change the PMVS? The odd thing was when I reset the system, it defaulted to Friday, January 1, 12:00. I called the A-Z people and they told me about the battery thing.

Hi fonedude,
It's worth a try. After setting the system time, try #728 -reset, programming saved. If that doesn't work, then try a power down. Make sure that only the vm ports are in hunt group 7. That should do it.

Chris is right. There is no battery on any of the Partner VS mods. Date & Times are passed thru from the processor. We have seen a few ACS processor that have date/time problems but are normally fixed when we repair them in the lab.
