I have hooked up older Partner Mails (R3) to a Legend - just to test them out for basic functioning - and if you set up a VM Calling Group (770) - you can get into the VM system. However, TTT is correct - in that there are enough differences - which will prevent some features from functioning.
what differences...does it pertain to Partner mails only???
I have installed and maintained a DOS based VM software for
years and once configured for At&T inband signaling it worked with all Partner, Legend and Definity switches....
must not apply to 3rd party apps?????
Geez Louise - Avaya products don't allow you to program at machine level, so they come pre-programmed with what mode codes to expext for call handling, and what feature codes to dial for MW lights and things like Centrex transfer.
I suppose you could replace the hard drive with a Merlin Mail one, but for that cost, just buy a current product.
