Our primary extension - 10 - is experiencing LOTS of static (been 3 weeks). I swapped lines on the card with Ext 11 (my ext) and it is clear. Is it possible to plug line 10 into, for example, port 30, and still have it be used as the main line. Would I need to reprogram the AutoAttdt, etc. if I swap the lines on the cards.

Would I be better off just getting a new card?

common problem with 206 cards there is a capacitor that goes bad and causes static on the ports

the only way to repair ext 10 is to replace or repair the card,

you could change the operator function to ext30 and point all auto attendent operator calls there

Or just swap the 206 from slot 1 with the 206 in slot 4. The noise may be tolerable on a seldom used station port while a replacement card is ordered.

you could swap the cards like 392 suggested then move ext 28 (which will now be staticy ) to 30 put a note on the card that ext 28 is bad and let it go like that untill you got to a point that you needed that port and then you could repair or replace the 206 at that point
