I've been having noise on one of my customers extension jack. Ext. Jack# 22 has been having the noise. I disconnected the the RJ connector and applied a tone to verify the line. The noise was gone on ckt 22. I swapped ckt 19 with 22 and confirmed that the problem must be in the mls18D. When I returnned the RJ connectors to the original position both phone have quit working! I can pick up dial tone on the xconnect block. I also can use my "budinsky" and pick up DT at phone extension location but, neither AT&T Partner MLS-12D Display phones will work at extension 19 or 22.
Anyone have any idea whatthe heck is goingon here!
Thanks,
Manny

You may have accidently shorted the 2nd (data) pair while you were testing. Older 206 modules will shut down the multiline functionality, while keeping the tip ring working. Power down and back up, or if the memory battery may be dead do a #728 from system programming. This should bring them back up.

As far as the noise on Ext. 22, plug the set directly into the module, and listen for the noise or static on the Intercom as well as the Lines. It's probably just a faulty port, time to change the phone to another extension number, or replace the module.
