I just added a VMS 5.0 to an existing Partner ACS R1.0 and went thru the programming. Ii have a 5 lot carrier with processor and 2 expansions on the left. I installed the VMS immed. to right of processor. It has a 4-port card. I want the A.A. to answer on the 4th ring but instead, it picks up immedialtely at the first ring and starts beeping ext. 10. At the same time, 2 lines light up. I have 3 lines and I assigned them to A.A.1
Any idea what is causing this?

I have assigned huntgroup 7 to ext. 34 & 35 and assigned the 3 lines I have to huntgroup 7. Is this what you mean?

Even though I recorded a greeting with the prompt menu, the callers hears "Your call is being transferred to the receptionist".

This indicates that at least one (and probably 2) of your voice mail ports are not assigned to Hunt Group 7.

Do you have a 4-port expansion card in the VS mail? Thay would make your voice mail extensions 32-35.

Call each extension individually and see what answers.

I took out the 4-port card and replaced it with a 2-port card that I had and the problem went away. You may be right about the extensions or maybe the other card was bad. I'm not sure.
Thanks a bunch.

Well, if you put a 4-port card in, you have to put 32, 33, 34, and 35 in Hunt Group 7. Above, you indicate you only put 34 and 35 in the group.
