I have a Partner ACS 509 R7. We have 3 anolog cordless phones running off of the aux. ports on 3 partner phones.
They worked fine for a long time. After a power outage the cordless phones stoped ringing when a call came in. All the other features work fine. The cordless phones still have dial tone, they just don't ring with an incoming call. I have done the usual reboot and checked all the programming. I bought a brand new cordless and that didn,t work either.
Ant help would be great.

Thanks,

It's possible that the ringing generator in the ACS has died, as the multiline phones don't need it to ring, only S/L sets. Try other ports directly off the ACS, and check a CO Line plugged directly into a cordless, to be sure they didn't lose some type of programming as well.

What would cause the ring generator to go bad? Can it easily be replaced, or does it need to be sent in?

After a power outage" - probably a surge when the power was restored, but who knows??

Did you do the check of putting a cordless phone directly on a CO line, to make sure that it indeed will ring on incoming ring voltage, as opposed to ring voltage generated by the ACS?

"Can it easily be replaced, or does it need to be sent in?" - don't know your skill level, don't know if you can isolate the problem to the power supply board or something else on the circuit card, but I would suggest that you contact an Avaya Business Partner to replace the ACS.

Is it still under warranty? The power failure could be coincidential, and cause and effect is pretty hard to establish.

ACS R7 have 3 year warranty if they are "registered" with Avaya.
