I read somewhere (in this forum, perhaps) that I could use a 206E (or some other PARTNER module) to simulate an analog line for testing.

Any thoughts on this? I'd actually like to use one to test ohter PARTNER systems and IP Office. Other ideas for simulating analog lines are most welcome!

Thanks!

Set Internal Dial Tone to Machine in #309

Set Distinctive Ring to Not Active in #308

Remove any Outside Lines assigned to the extension in #301

Now the extensions provide "regular" dial tone line a Central Office, and your "telephone numbers" are the extension numbers

And the instructions TTT mentioned are for a Partner ACS Processor 308 or R7 5x9 NOT a 206E.

The other option if you don't need "CO style" dial tone and have one is the Partner 206 (no "E" on it) It doesn't have the extra processing power or caller ID but is another option.

Well, pair it up with a Partner Plus, and a carrier - you shouldn't spend more than $50 for the pair on eBay.

Yeah, I figured you couldn't do it with a 206E (e=expansion and wouldn't run without a main processor).

I'm gonna set one up today in the lab... let you know how it goes!

... let you know how it goes!

I "goes" just fine. I use it to test my systems with voice messaging after I set them up and before I send them out.

I just grab an ACS or a P+, PII and 206.
