All programming is held in the processor. It is always a good idea to ensure the system isn't giving you the "Replace batt w/system on" warning at extension 10 before powering it down. If it is giving you the warning make sure to replace the AAA battery in the processor or all programming will be lost.
A genius doesn't solve problems, he prevents them~~!!~~
If it's a direct 1:1 replacement of an expansion module, you shouldn't need any programming. But if the processor has trouble recognizing the module, you may need to do a Reset-Save All: From ext. 10 or 11, go into system programming (F00, left Intercom twice), then #728. The Partner will reboot and should recognize the module after it comes back up.
