Hello,

I thought I had seen the password I could use to reset a Partner ACS rel 5 password. But after searching, I don't see it.

Can anybody help me, or am I going to have to call and pay Avaya? I have access to the Partner, if that is required.

I would really hate to admit to my bosses that I screwed up, and forgot the password.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Go to the "Keyword Search" tab. This topic has been covered many times. I don't want to just print it in the clear. Try "Partner Mail VS Reset". Something is bound to come up. If you can't find it, I'll send it to your email.

OK, I was about to give up, and somehow typed in the password. But, I am not sure what the password I used.

And I can't see where to change the password, while using remote admin. I am reluctant to turn off my laptop, until I figure out how to change the password.

Can anybody help? Please!!!

Hi Jeff,
Sorry, I though you were talking mail VS. Don't know where I got that from.
The Partner ACS password is set in system programming #730, enter. You must be on site, or have someone on site do this. You can not change the system access password with remote administration software. (You can not access a system remotely unless a password has been entered either). Does this help?

Chris,

Thanks, I was wondering if the only way to change the remote password was via local system programming.

Well, I was able to log back in, and I don't really understand it because I was sure I had already tried that password. I thought I had tried all combinations of caps and numlok, but who knows...

I need to spend a bit of time rereading the manuals, I only manage one Partner system, the details escape me. I really hope there isn't a password for system programming, but I bet there is. I can't figure out why I didn't write down all the passwords for this system, unless it was time issues, since it's a branch office--especially since every other password I use at work is noted in a file.

Your response regarding the remote password was helpful, thanks!!!

Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Thanks, there is no password to get into programming via a system phone. Feature 00, left intercom twice ... that's it.
When dialing remotely, random line noise can make a login fail. I have a habit of typing slowly. Especially with WinSPM on a Legend.
Use the guide in the back of the programming manual, it's much faster. The Partner is one of my favourite systems.

Good news, thanks for the information. If I need to, I can change the remote admin password, without paying big bucks to Avaya!

Chris, thanks, thanks, thanks!
