4th Slot Partner VS Mail R 4

Processor had been a R3 3 by 8 was set up where from the AA, the caller could dial 50 and go right to mailbox 50 and leave a message. There is no phone at extension 50. we replaced the processor with an R7 5 by 9.
mailbox 50 is still set up as a mailbox in the VM. it is set up in the processor with VM coverage.

When you dial it from the AA now.. it starts to transfer it, but then pauses and transfers the call to the operator. You can dial intercom 50 and get the mail box selector code 5 is set for direct extension transfer.

I havent been in a VS mail for a while, but I cant see any reason that mailbox 50 wont pick this up. Any ideas?

Since you now have 9 extensions on the processor instead of 8 you need to adjust your voicemail hunt group 7. Assuming you have a 2-port voicemail your hunt group 7 should now be 39 & 40 assigned instead of 38 & 39. If it's a 4-port you need to assign 37-40 instead of 36-39. System programming, #505-7

Thanks.. it is a 4 port.. and i did make that change. I dont have any trouble on the other extensions, no trouble reaching vm, etc... just on callers transferring from the AA to the guest mailbox.... it acts like it is going to, but then gets transferred to the operator at EX 10... i havent been in a VS mail for a while, but this is a strange one.

Do you have Automatic VMS Cover (#310) turned on for extension 50?

Dan

If it ain't broke, why fix it?
If it's broke, try to fix it..
If you can't fix it, get yourself a good baseball bat and swing away! :)

if you replaced processor then you had to reprogram system programming.
#505 -hunt grp 7's ext are different
#206 - call grp distribution for line/hunt grp 7
#506 vms hunt delay
#507 vms schedule
#310 auto vms cover for ext/subcribers

other then that selector code 5 set to selector code transfer to ext 50 not dir ext transfer. dir ext transfer waits for another digit to be dialed ex 50, 51 ,52,53,54etc...

if 2nd digit is never dialed then auto -att doesnt not what to do but transfer caller to the call answer supervisor(operator) set up in system parameters. sounds like its doing what it's programmed to do...
