I have a customer who bought their system, and cards from an online seller. They were told they can use an ACS R5 or R6 308 processor as a 308EC. They were told just put it into a regular non-processor slot, and it will act like a 308EC. I have never heard of this. They intend to put a 509 processor, 308 processor(as a 308EC), 012, and partner mail in a 5 slot.
Anyone ever heard of doing this? I told him, I had not heard of this but would check some sources and get back. It is supposed to implement next week.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

That was my original thought, but I do not know everything, so I told the guy I would make inquiries. Now I did, and it is as I thought, their vendor needs to pass that left handed cigarrette, and not take so many hits himself.
I was pretty sure this was crazy, but did not want to tell my customer that. I told him I would seek some info on this, so now I am not a liar.

Okay if you thought about it you could answer the question yourself. On all processors Partner Plus & Partner II all releases and ACS R1-R7 are all the same. The card's edge are to big to fit in any other slot. They only fit in slot 3 on 5 slot carriers (Any release) and Slot 1 on the ACS/Endever 2 slot carriers. ACS cards will not fit in the Partner 2 slot carrier.
End of story.

Magix cards do not fit in a Legend either, and I had not heard of the clam shell until I saw one. I do see your point though, I thought it was highly unlikely. I did say I would inquire about it to the customer before I even thought about it. Now when I say I checked into it, I am not lying. Thanks for your responses.
