I have a new Partner ACS R6 with a Partner VS Mail. It will not transfer to a station's mailbox if the station has it's DND feature activated. It worked with the Partner II I replaced. The caller hears the message: "your call is being transfered", as it should. After a short pause the AA says "your call is being transfered to the receptionist". The call goes to her mail box if not answered. If she has her DND active the caller hears "your call is being transfered to the receptionist" over & over untill you disconnect the call..

btw..to find out which version ACS, just dial feature 59 from any display phone, and to determine which ACS it is..just dial 7 from the Admin mailbox after you log in...0#--{system admin Password}--7. Probably you will need to do the upgrade to the VSR5 for this to work. We had the same issue at a site where the customer had an ACS R3 that died and we replaced it with a R6. You are going to need a linear pcmia card to load the patch onto..the patch can be found here if the VS is a R5:

I thought the Partner Mail VS R5 only needed to be patched when it was used in conjunction with an R7 processor. [ponder]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Did you assign auto VMS cover to the exts to be covered by voice mail?

I heard of this on some of the newer ACSR6's aswell as the R7(known issue with R7). But it wouldn't hurt to check that your voicemail ports are assigned correctly.

There ARE issues with VS R5 voicemail with ACS R6 processors.Log into mailbox 99 and press 7 to hear the revision of your VS Mail. You may have to install a patch or do away with Do Not Disturb

This is a Partner VS R1 voice mail I'm trying to reuse with
a new Partner ACS R6 (PACS R6.0.B-C01)

Yes, Auto VM cover is assigned to stations. AA transfered calls work fine until they activate Do Not Disturb feature!
Then calls are routed to station #10 just as if they were not assigned auto VM cover.

I know for a fact that I have R6's installed with Partner Messaging and VS R5s that work fine with DND. I'm going to look through my records because I think I have some earlier VS versions running with R6s also..

Thanks for the info & if anything else comes to mind, please let me know.

Check the releases of your other R6's. This one looks like the "T" version, which is the latest. Avaya will only support the Partner Mail VS5.

The ACS R6 is returning mode codes that the VS R1 does not recgonize. Since VS R1 is no longer supported, you must remove DND from extensions with voice mail coverage, or replace the voice mail with something more current.

TouchToneTommy, Thanks, I have some other VS Mails on the shelf to try. Do you have any idea what releases may work?

All set on this one guys.

It is the "T" clock patch that causes the DND proplem in the ACS R6 same as the R7. I'm taking the clock patch out in order to use the old mail.

Also need to have the VS R5s upgraded to V21 for use with the ACS R6.0.B-C01 & the R7s

Thanks to you all.
