Hello & thanks for reading my post.
I recently have a customer who upgraded their phone service to and Qwest One flex. This service combines internet access & phone service off a T1 line. The breakout on this comes from a Qwest provided Adtran router. Not sure of model.

My question is, what is the minimum amount of talk voltage that an R7 can handle? I have 12ma of loop & 1.5v of talk. 46.8v idle.

Without getting into a long story here about the woes of this system. My problem is that the system keeps shuting off & on. This is after a new proc, new carrier, good battery backup.
I did determine today that after a call hangs up & you try to access that line when the system shows clear tat I get a busy then the system reboots. So i set CO Disconnect timing to 300ms

Has anyone had a similar problem????

Funny thing is that they just came off of the same type of service different vendor but the router was a Cisco. No problems there.

the system goes down just in the middle of something?
it could be a bad expansion card taking the system down, i have seen that with 206 cards in the past that just overheat a bit shut the system down and come back up after that. Other then that you have analog lines on the system or use the T1 for lines, I would think analog lines and they should not cause the system to reboot at any event even if the voltage and the current are a bit lower then they usually are from a line provider.

Thanks. I do have a single 206E card in the system. I have replaced the Proc in this system due to crosstalk between lines 1-3. I will test that card again. The system currently has R7 proc, 2-308EC cards, 1 206EC card & VM R7. I have replaced the carrier also. I also took it off of the battery backup, thinking it was a power problem. I removed the VM thinking it was the problem due to an amber light & no access to VM, but after the system reboots several times it shuts the VM down.

this is a nasty one to find, it is basically not happening when you are there to see the lights if it is one of the expansions causing it, after how long does it come back up would it be enough time for the customer to see which lights are off on the unit, if so then have them look and report to you.

If you setup the system for Remote Access and connect to it, you might see some system alarms that may provide some clues as to what may be happening. The only way to see the alarm codes is to connect via Remote Access.

Where are you setting CO disconnect?
Qwest is very tough to work with. There first line people are usually not telephone oriented. Ask for a supervisor and tell him you need a positive disconnect. From what I remember it's a setting on their second page. I have never seen dial tone cause a system to reset.

I don't know if this is related, but I have a customer that recently switched to FIOS and Verizon used an Adtran 924 I think. The problem was similar and it turned out the forward disconnect timer in the router was too fast and they had to slow it down. After 2 weeks of bulls**t, I went straight to appeals and in a day got a FIOS guy in VA to change the setting and everything has been OK.

I think the setting was at 500ms and they slowed to 750. I have to check my notes but call them and check it out.
