I have a client that is using a PARTNER ACS in a motel setting. The rooms matched to the extension ports, i.e. room 2 is extension 12, room 3 is extension 13 and so on.
The extension in room 4, so extension 14, has a lamp on the set that wont go out and calls can be made from the extension but not transferred to it and room 9, extension 19, has a similar problem.
I believe the ports have failed. Is there a way to reset the ports or should I move those extension to the 308EC card that has extensions in the 30's range.
If I move the extensions how do I copy the programming of the original sets to the new extensions; use F#399?
Any suggestions?

Start by taking the phone to the control unit and plugging it in there directly. See if it still has the same problem. Try the phone on a different port, try a know good phone on the ports in question. This will eliminate wiring/jacks as the issue, which is 99% of the problems in a motel.

If it is indeed the port on the control unit, and a power cycle does not fix it, you can certainly move to different ports, use #399 to copy over, but you CAN'T change the extension number on the new ports to be the same as the old one, those are hard coded to the module and where it is plugged in.

Many Thanks TT Tommy!!!
I really appreciate the assistance.
Stay well

Went to the cilent site today and tried the #399 process. It worked great for the first two extension that I needed to make work, which is awesome. When we discussed future growth potential, the client asked for the remaining ports on the system be programmed to the main set and that would make the system ready for changes that he might do.
I tried set copy, #399, from the sets that I got working but when I tried the button it would grab line 1, acquire dial tone, and then do almost a speed dial of the extension that I had programmed on the button i.e. ext 26.

What have I not done or what have I done that is not making this work properly?

Not clear on what is happening.

You did #399 in System Programming at Ext. 10, by copying from a working room extension to a new extension?

So what button on what extension are you pressing that is causing which phone to go off hook and dial?

Good morning
I used #399 at extension 10 and tried to copy a working extension to another extension but when I try to do a test call to that new extension at extension 10 I push the programmed button with the new extension and the extension 10 picks an outside line and proceeds to call the extension numbers i.e push button with extension 33 at extension 10 and the phone acquires dial tone on line 1 (in most cases, sometime line 2 if line 1 is busy) and proceeds to dial "3 3" as if it is a speed dial or something similar. The button is suppose to be programmed so that it can be used as transfer to that room. All calls go through the front desk and the secondary phone extension 11 in the owners apartment of the motel.
Thanks for your continued input
This is very helpful
