partner acs 7 ext 10 goes to auto att instead of general mailbox 1

partner acs 7 with 2 port mail calls to ext 10 answered by auto attendant instead of gen del mailbox..???.thanks mww
 
What do you consider to be the General Delivery Mailbox? On Partner Messaging, it is 9991, and only accessible through the Auto Attendant.

Or, you can assign an extegnsion's mailbox to cover and answer incoming lines.
 
Just UNassign the lines from the Auto Attendant - #206-7-(line number)-2

then ASSIGN them to a specific extension - #208-(line number)-(extension number)

Make sure the extension has the lines assigned to it, with Immediate or Delayed ringing, and has Auto VMS cover - #310-(extension number)-1

 
Thanks will try out... How would be the best way to set up this scenario: partner acs rel 7.0 phone system with avaya partner 7.0 2 port mail in partner messaging unit.
8 pooled lines for in and out, all incoming calls answered by auto attendant on 1st ring if caller dosen't dial an ext or dials 0 we would like 3 secretaries phones to ring, if they don't answer, auto or delay transfer to an administrative assistant. we have a spare phone to play with if we need one for transfering or something. also we have an operator phone which nobody mans. Thanks for any ideas, Mike
 
You would put your 3 secretaries in a calling group, such as 72. Make the Dial 0/Timeout transfer to Ext. 72. (You also have to make a mailbox 72, with transfer only permission). The administrative assistant's extension must be the Call Answer Service Operator (which may impact other things, like when callers 0 out of a mailbox, unless you set everyone's Personal Operator to some other destination). Finally, you must set the Transfer Return Extension for each of the voice mail ports to point to themselves, instead of Ext. 10 as the manual instructs you.

Call comes in, is answered by the Auto Attendant. Caller presses 0 or times out, call is transferred to Ext. 72, which is the group of 3 phone. Call is not answered, returns to the voice mail port that sent it, is answered, announces "transferring to operator", then transfers to Call Answer Service Operator.

Hope that's not too confusing!
 
Thanks, Exactly what I'm looking for. How and where do I connect the secretaries calling group (group 1) to mailbox 72? Also how and where do I set the Dial 0/ Timeout transfer to Ext 72? Where do you change everyones personal operator? Thanks Mike (We have come a long way from 1A2)
