Partner ACS 7.91.0 not working with PC Diagnostic App v 7.0.0.7

This is the second _new_ system that this has happened. I think the PC configuration tool (dated V7 2004) does not work with the latest release of ACS that is shipping now. I use the serial port with a cable jacked into the ADMIN port of the ACS. The tool can download and upload the translation and also view the board inventory - but errors out with a version warning when it goes to display the config in the tree view for editing. I have used this setup for over a year and no probs when locally connected. Anyone else notice this or does it work with dialing in and a remote card? I looked on Avaya's site under partner R7 for updates to the PC tool but it looks like the R7 is still there. The CD's that come with the product only have docs and instructions for using the tool. Other versions from the inventory tool are: V7.7, app 7.0 Proc Boot 93.4, Port Proc 94.15, PACS 7.91.0

I answered my own question. While the download on the support.avaya.com appears to be the same version R7 - it is actually a newer build. I uninstalled the 2004 version and installed the new one from the site and now it works with the latest ACS R7 from the distributors. It seems to keep your old translation directories intact. The one on support is 7.0.1.1 from 2007

Yes, our good friend Tim, Dagwood Systems, discovered the difference and contacted the national product manager for the ACS, who worked with Tim to get a new version released. If I could give Tim a star from here, I certainly woud!
