Partner ACS 509 R7 with a non system 2 line phone. System lost all programming due to power loss with low battery situation.
No backup card. Looked in backup and a file was there from 12 years ago when another entity had the system.
So I reprogrammed mostly from scratch.
Any how Ext. 23 has the non system 2 line RCA type phone. The 2 line phone has a private line going to line 1. It is the system's line 10. So I went into programming and put Line 10 onto the line 1 button. So on line 1 you can intercom back and forth from or to Ext.23.
If you dial 9 you get the line 10 outside dialtone.
Now, I put another line from the system on to line 2 button, but it was direct dial tone and would ring when outside callers called the auto attendant. Also there was no intercom path, it just went out directly on the system line 1 or 2 or 5 : whatever I assigned to it.
So after much re programming I think I have assigned line 5 to it, but it was still ringing when calls were answered by the AA. I set the Ext 23 ringers to be no ring but it was still ringing. Also before the power failure when selecting the RCA line 2 button, customer said they would have to dial 9 to get outside line. Now it is just straight outside line.
So I turned off the ringer for line 2 in the RCA menu to stop incoming calls from bothering that individual.
What anm I missing here? It would be nice if it was back how it was before. Both lines on RCA need to dial 9 to get outside.
I know my friend Touch Tone Tommy probably has the answer.
