I just put in a new ACS509 R.7 with a 400 line card and Partner messaging card.
Do I need an external paging system or does the newer 509 card have a built in paging system? Line Port 5 doubles as page port, but does it support paging speakers by itself? Thank you!

You should use a "paging interface" from the Line 5 port to your loudspeaker paging amp - unless it already has a paging interface built-in that provides a "loop-start" connection port.

No paging interface needed - programming line 5 in #617 turns it into the traditional 600-ohm Partner paging output, with audio on the center pins and contact closure on the 2 pins surrounding that.

I didn't know that - THANKS TouchToneTommy!

You may be thinking of the contact closure that is usually used with a door opener.

On a 509 ACS, you can program any line port to act as the 600-ohm paging output, but, if you program line 5, you also get the contact closure during the page interval. This makes it just like the dedicated page port that was standard on the Partner Plus, Partner II, and the 308 ACS processors.

HI ALL
I am installing a partner door phone , is there a way i can program it to call more than 1 ext ? call group cov ?

Yes - you set the extentions that will be alerted by the doorphone by using #606 from programming. Set all you want.
