We have a 5 slot carrier with a main module, messaging module and 1 308 module. From left to right it goes 308,VM, main.
We purchased a new 308 module where do i put it in the carrier? I assume the 4 slot but i want to make sure. Will this mess with the VM system at all?

Thanks.

Hello! [smile]

Move the voicemail module to slot #4 and put the new 308EC into slot #2.

Next you will need to remove the extensions found in Hunt Group #7 (as they will now be incorrect for the new configuration), and add the new correct extensions to the group. [thumbsup2]

What voicemail (model and release) and how many port license? Someone will help you change your extensions in group 7 if you need it.

It is partner messaging 5 or higher i think, the ACS is 5. I believe it is 2 or 4 ports so i assume i will need to find the new ports then use them as members of hunt group7 and remove the existing ones. Will this be the only thing i need to do.

Thanks.

The Avaya Partner Messaging has only 3 revisions: 1,6&7. The Partner Mail VS comes in R1->R5.

If the System Admin logs in to extension 99, you have a Partner Mail VS and the greeting will tell you which revision.

If you have an Avaya Partner Messaging, the system Admin logs in to extension 0.

Ok so that eliminates the Partner Mail VS. You have one of the 3 revisions of the Avaya Partner Messaging.

Now can you tell us if you have a 2,4 or 6 port PC card plugged into the front of the voicemail module? The printing on the PC card will tell you. [smile]

well i am not in front of it but i know that extensions 26, 27, & 29 all go to the VM system. So it is a 4-port but one of the ports is broken maybe? I did not do the initial setup for this system.

There are only 3 ports listed, so port #28 is missing from the list.

After the modules have been moved, remove those ports from Hunt Group #7 and add ports 34-37. That should get you rolling. (If my math is wrong, someone will correct me). [bigsmile]

One more thing.....

After all the programming is done, you can test each of the 4 new ports by pressing one of the "Intercom" buttons and then selecting each one of the 4 new ports. If all is well, you will hear "Joyce the Voice" say "Welcome to Avaya Partner Messaging".

Needless to say I am curious as to why port #28 was not in Hunt Group #7 [ponder]

This worked great. I moved the modules. remove the extensions from the Hunt Group. I added 34-37 to the hunt group and everything worked. All 4 VM extensions now work. I am not sure either why only 3 worked before.
Thanks.

Great to hear that all of the ports work. If you paid for 4 ports, you should get 4 working ports! [thumbsup2]

Glad I could help! [wavey2]
