Partner acs 3.1 call forwarding problem

I have a Lucent Partner ACS R3.1 with Partner Mail 5 and want to program an extension to dial an outside number when the caller selects the extension via auto attendant. Can this be done with my system? I have heard that extensions can only call forward to another extension, which is pointless.

If I must upgrade, is there an easy upgrade path from ACS R3.1 to R6?

R6 was the first to allow Remote Call Forward. It's a flash card upgrade to your processor, then you will need to reprogram from scratch.

If your "Partner Mail 5" is actually a Partner Mail VS R5, you can do a Centrex Transfer from the Auto Attendant, but need to have lines from the phone company that can do "Flash, Transfer, Disconnect"
