Unusual failure wherein the Line & Station ports failed, (only on the board - the rest of the system was fine) The Processor part of the ACS was still intact and also the power module within the 308 was good. No way to do a backup since ports 10 & 11 (as well as 12 thru 17) were all dead. Multiple reboots & removal of a suspected corrupted backup/restore card, did not clear issue. Full ACS Proc card replacement was mandated. alot of fun programming the doorphone alerts after 12 years?

I considered the Backup/Restore card corrupted, however it was not. This does not explain why the card had no files since I had done many backups over the years with this client. I pulled the card while desperately doing reboots for the ACS card to come backup. The Client is a church and the reason for the ACS failure is unclear. The Proc died Sunday sometime between 12:30 & 3PM. No Power failure reported. The Partner outlived the minuteman UPS which had since died and was not replaced. There is not even a surge suppressor. In this case the 3.o was 12-15 yrs old and just failed in service.

No TTT, I replaced it with a 5.0 that I had access to and I had to reload the programming manually. I took the clamshell off the 3.0 to inspect for any visible issue (CPROM?) To loose the Line & station ports (1-3 & 10-17 only) but retain the system memory seemed unusual.

The 5.0 won't read the back up file from the 3.0

Only the 7.0 and 8.0 can read the backup file from a 6.0, but that's the only situation that allows you to load a file from an earlier release
