Hello,

We have a partner acs r6.0 phone system. The caller id stopped working 2 days ago. One of the employees was trying to program a phone and was pushing buttons. When an incoming call comes in it does not display the company name and number. I called cox to make sure the caller id was active and they verified it was. I am sure a feature got turned off. I tried #317 318 319 and activated those and it still is not working. I appreciate any help you guys can provide. Thanks.

The caller ID programming really only has to do with logging the calls - there's nothing you need to do to display it on an incoming call. Get a cheap caller ID box or phone and check at the EMTA first, or listen with your butt set on monitor for the CID signal between the 1st and 2nd rings.

Did they program the phone to not ring on incoming calls? If so, that is the cause. You have to have the phone lines set to ring in order for Caller ID to display on the phone (before you answer it).

The phone lines are set to ring immediately.

If the phones are ringing immediately then Caller ID should be coming through. There is nothing to program to allow Caller ID to come into the system. It just does as long as Cox is sending it. It can take 2 rings before it comes through, but if there is still an issue I would say it is probably a Cox issue. If your lines are being delivered from a router (versus true copper POTS lines) they might not be sending a strong enough signal.
