Hi cubla,
That is a user option unless you are using "autocopy". If you forward a message the recipient will know where it came from. I would think the entire purpose of forwarding a message would include letting the recipient know who forwarded the message. Besides, most people will say the name of the contact when leaving a message.
Hi cubla,
That sounds familiar! It works. Watch her follow the instructions, they are correct. Follow along in a user manual. There is nothing we can tell you if the client does not follow the manual. This is the only way to solve the problem.
You wouldn't believe how many service calls over a year I go on just to watch the client perform a task to solve "it doesn't work".
If you are attempting to "autocopy", then use the GUI. It's way easier.
Hi cubla,
Are you pointing a web browser at it or trying to use the GUI? You can not be logged in to the system more than once. That holds for admin and users.
To check physical ports you can call each one to see if it answers, or program the ports on a phone (buttons with lights). You can watch port activity then.

web browser and programming the buttons was a good idea! thanks!
none of the ports are in use but the web browser claims all are?
and i can't get this damn unified messaging to send emails for nothing...and i'm a computer guy! haha...
i haven't restarted exchange yet, but everytime i insert the DNS server IP address under unified messaging using the Messaging software after you exit it disappears? that normal?
Hi cubla,
I haven't seen that, but then again, I set it up & leave it to the MIS guys. I normally set up the iP's one time using the RS-232 port.
The web browser is reporting the iP port is unavailable, not the physical ports the VM uses to answer calls, etc. Sounds like the same problem with many effects. Try and ping the VM in a "command" DOS window. Are you on the same subnet or are you routed?
