Partner 308ec expansion glitch 1

I'm expanding my system which is currently set with the ACS in slot 3 and VMS in slot 1 of 5. I put my new 308 in slot one, move VMS to slot 2 and set the VMS hunt group from ext 22 & 23 to ext 30 & 31. Lines 1 & 2 are assigned to the hunt group. Now on an incoming call both lines 1 & 2 light up and the caller immediately recieves the standard transfer message. How can I get the system to work where the phone rings and allows any extension to answer before going to VM?
 
What is the release of your ACS?

If it is a 2-port VS mail, and an R1 through R6, you are correct on your port count, but double check that 30 and 31 are in hunt group 7 (also confirm that it is only a 2-port voice mail)

If it is an ACS R7, then the ports are 31 and 32.

If you Intercom ext. 26 through 32, you can note which answer, and be sure they are in the group.
