Partner 206 Stand Alone Programming

I have a customer that uses a stand alone 206 card as there phone system. However, can't seem to get into the programming on it. I attempted to connect a new Avaya 18D phone to the unit because they do not have any display phones to program with. My 18D works, but I could not get a display? The backlight lit up, but nothing on the display. You really should have a display phone to program with, correct?? Does this unit maybe not support display phones?? Anyway, I know that you should program from ext 10 which is where I was plugged in and feature 00 to enter programming, but with no display this could be a little more difficult.

Hi Travis,
Last time I programmed one of these I used an 18D and got a display. Also, MLS-12D's (normal). The main difference should be the top row of buttons not being recognised. Ext 10 is the correct port (not ext 11).
It is possible that the port is dead. Does a normal system phone work in there? Also, try to plug directly in to the card.

What release software is the 206 module ?

The Partner R1 and R2 were released prior to Display phones. If you in fact have one of the R1 or R2 partner, that is why the displays dont work, and on those old ones you dont need a display to program. there are less than 10 options that are programmable.

I believe that ttech is correct. I'm not sure what release it is, but I will check that next time I'm out. The 18d phone does work as a telephone when plugged into ext 10, (I was plugging directly into the system.) but no display. All I need to do is program some intercom buttons. Thanks for the Reference Guides. That's a much more simplified guide than what I have been using.

If you have a standalone system (one card) you will not get data on the display. I worked on standalone 206 mods for quite some never have I gotten display info. You'll need to set the system up with a processor to obtain any display.

What release " Baby Partner", I think release 4.1 supports readout.

Correct. R4.1 does support display on an 18D.
