I have repartitioned my 120gb hard drive.

C = 20gb XP Pro
D = 30gb Data
E = 60gb Programs

How do I get "C:/documents and settings" and
"C:/program files"
to move to the new new target partitions "D" and "E" respectively? Any way I have tried always comes up with an error message that "C:/ " is a system file and cannot be moved. I can understand that. Do I have to assign similar files in the new partition? If so that seems not to good because many programs and files automatically want to go to "C:/ ". If anyone can help clarify, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

trad1999 - this is really a software issue - would be better off in the relevant o/s forum (eg forum779 if you're running XP).

You can also use tweakui to change location of some 'system folders' - though I'm not sure about the whole \documents and settings folder (but you can specify where your own profile lives by running lusrmgr.msc and specifying it there. Also, installs prompt for target - so just make sure its always E:\program files?
