I am having an issue with partitioning a hard drive. I use fdisk to partition the drive, check that it has taken yet when I reboot the partition disappears. I have rebooted 10 times and still it disappears.

IHave you tried reformatting the drive, I had the smae problem the other day when I fdisked my drive to remove all partitions. The memory was not showing until I deleted all the partitions, logical, and virtual
I hope if you had any programs on there you uninstalled them first ready to reinstall them on the new drive .
Other wise registry entries wont be recognised.
This piece below is what you should do.
no format will not increase the harddrive
limits lost. You need to Fdisk first...remove ALL
Logical Partitions...then remove all Extended dos
Partitions..then a Primary Dos partition if it has
one...Then make a dos partition and tell it to use ALL
of the drive space available. Then Format the drive.
If yoiu follow all the steps in the fdisk page it should do the trick.

This definitely worked for me once I followed all the instructions correctly.
thanks for this to GAry Avrett of 5Star support@coolist.com
Let me know if this helps.
