Hi .. quick question

I have set up multipath for the first time.

device is showing up in /dev/mapper/mpath0

my question is i have created a filesystem straight on this device without partitioning. What are the pros/cons of doing this or is this wrong?

thanks in advance...

It's fine to do that. The only reason I would partition it in this situation is to make it obvious that the disk is in use, and by what type of operating system and/or volume management software. That's only significant in a multi-host environment with lots of shared storage where you may accidentally try and use the disk from another system thinking that it is "free".
